Heartbreaking Tragedy

On February 6, 2023, at 04:17 am, a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey near the Syrian border, triggering thousands of aftershocks. The disaster has claimed the lives of over 59,000 individuals, injured over 121,000, and left hundreds missing.

The earthquake's epicenter was located in the Turkish province of Kahramanmaraş, near the Syrian border. The violent tremors were felt as far as Israel, Cyprus, and Egypt. The quake caused widespread destruction, leveling entire buildings and infrastructure.

In Turkey, the death toll has reached 53,537, with over 107,213 injured. The Syrian government has reported 5,951 deaths and 14,500 injuries.
